At the time gas was only 34 cents per gallon (adjusted for inflation). Charles' experiences as an independent station owner inspired him to start PBD West. Originally United Buyers Inc. and later renamed PBD West, Charles Khalil founded the company in 1992 with a mission to bring innovation and price parity to independent gas and convenience across the US.
